About Notaras Lodge
Luxury in log rooms best describes these rustic log cabins. We offer 15 cabins, each uniquely designed and decorated around a different theme. Every unit features a kitchenette area (complete with a microwave, compact refrigerator and bar sink), cable TV, and Wi-Fi. Further, seven of the cabins also feature an in-room Jetted tub. Each cabin is individually furnished and appointed with beautiful epoxied tables and vanities with artifacts and memorabilia worked into layers of epoxy — making each a separate work of art. The cabins are within walking distance to the healing waters of Soap Lake, feature patios, and are immersed in the beautiful landscaping of the resort.
The original Notaras Lodge was lost in a fire on June 5, 1998. Before its construction, the former owner, Marina Romary, enjoyed collecting hundred of pictures and mementos for decorating the Lodge rooms. She also epoxied slab tables from local residents, relatives, neighbors, and friends. Many of the items on the walls and in the tables were irreplaceable artifacts, primitives, and antiques. Further, a majority of the decor from the original Lodge was salvaged and is now being used in the newer rooms.
The design and construction of each cabin and room was accomplished by local tradesmen. During the construction, logs were shipped from the Methow Valley and Nespelem in Washington. While visiting, you can find different rooms to include tooled leather light switch covers, log beds, cistern pump water faucets, and many unique touches.

Mrs. No
This cabin is dedicated to the original owner’s mother, Joyce Notaras. It is decorated with love
and affection. This Jetted suite, with its flowery decor, teacup display, Tennessee cedar woodwork, and queen size bed (and sofa sleeper) is sure to make you reminiscent of Grandma’s house. Dad’s old shotgun and a soliloquy to him (written by the eldest son) add a couple of family touches. And the story behind the name Mrs. No? It was thought to be short for Mrs. Notaras, but it actually came from the number of times she told the children “no” as they were growing up.
Old Mexico
With its stucco walls, red clay tile roof, and wrought iron decorative balcony, gives you the feeling of strolling through a Mexican village. From the log carving depicting siesta time and the Mexican farm scene to the sombreros, parrots, and seashells (from the beaches in Mexico) one begins to feel as if they are really there. Further, a king size bed, queen size sofa sleeper, a 2-person Jetted makes for a south-of-the-border home away from home.
The Honeymoon Suite
This suite has a European touch with a warm and cozy feeling to the warm. French doors open onto a semi-private balcony with breathtaking views of the lake. The dining table is the focal point with wedding photos of the Notaras family and friends. Further, the fireplace adds a wonderful, romantic ambiance to your stay. For a perfect view of the sunsets, the king size bed faces French doors.
The Bunkhouse
This is a step back in time to the old west but with all of the modern conveniences. There is a 1900 cistern pump, an 1870 jam kettle, local brands, gold bags, and a wooden pack horse saddle. With a 2-person Jetted, queen size beds, and two sets of bunkbeds in the loft, the cabin is ideal for a family or group of up to 6.
